3 Delicious Ways to Use Almond-Milk: Dairy-Free Goodness

Hello there, Beautiful People!

By now, most people are catching on to the fact that the hormonal fluid known as cow's milk simply ain't a health or beautifying beverage. So, what's a milk-lover to do?

Enter, almond milk.

This delicious non-dairy alternative is versatile, nutritious, and plant based! Below, I list 3 easy ways to incorporate this almondy goodness into your diet.

Just an FYI here, people -- the brand of almond milk you choose is key. Buy the wrong one and you'll be cursing my name. I've provided a photo of my personal favorite brand below.

The brand is Califia Farms. Its' taste, at least in my experience, is is superior to the competitors. It's rich, tasty and full of calcium.  I've worked with clients that like other brands as well, so just play around a little. If you prefer to buy a smaller amount at first, take note that stores carry almond milk in 32 fl oz Tetra Packs in the dried goods aisle - that way you don't have to buy a full gallon at first.

Choosing an unsweetened, vanilla flavor also makes a huge difference. There's no added sugar, but you still get a delicious vanilla taste! You've gotta try it.


Here are 3 simple and practical ways to incorporate almond milk into your diet:

1. Add it to Coffee or Tea
Yup. Ditch the sugary creamer and try this lighter beverage instead. I'm a coffee drinker (hello, it's a good source of antioxidants), and the Califia Farms Toasted Coconut almond milk in coffee is outstanding! Not a coffee fan? Add it to your favorite cup of tea. Your body will thank you.

2. Pour into a high-fiber cereal or granola
Cold almond milk makes a delicious addition to your favorite bowl of (healthy, of course) cereal or lightly-sweetened granola. Take a bowl, pour in your whole grain goodness cereal, and add as little or as much almond milk as you'd like. For an antioxidant boost, throw some fresh or frozen berries in, and you have a little meal!

3. Tasty little "night cap"
Plagued by sweet cravings at night? Don't fret - many people experience this. If you like warm and holiday-like beverages then this will tickle your fancy. If you're trying to lose weight or just reduce you added sugar intake, try making the following drink. You can drink it any time of day, of course.

Heat 1 mug of Califia Farms Unsweetened Vanilla almond milk OR Califia Farms Toasted Coconut Almond Milk in a small saucepan over the stove top. Add a dash of cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick, and a dash of nutmeg. Depending on your health and fitness goals, you can also add a small drizzle of Honey to give it a little added sweetness. I'm telling you - this is good stuff.

So, if you're afraid of almond milk - don't be. Branch out of your comfort zone and try adding it through one of the three ways above!
